FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Minerva Canna Group (Minerva), a leading company in the cannabis industry, is taking a stand to address two recent articles that inaccurately portrayed the company's commitment to health and safety. The article, published on September 7th in The Paper, claimed that Minerva Canna was facing 14 health and safety violations. This statement is unequivocally false. In order to clarify the situation, Minerva would like to provide accurate information to the public. Over a year ago, in August of 2022, we underwent a routine visit from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) at a former facility, which were no longer operating in. During this time our company was demolishing the interior build out in order to restore it to its original condition before moving out of that facility. While such visits are standard in our industry, it's important to note that all violations that resulted from this visit were due to the building being in substandard conditions due the nature of a demolition site. Yet, those violations were promptly addressed, resolved, and subsequently corrected.”
More recently, an unfortunate accident occurred at our Bernalillo facility involving an employee who suffered 2nd-degree burns due to contact with hot distillate oil when he dropped the beaker and oil splashed back onto him. There was never any threat to other employees or to our facility, thanks to our rigorous safety procedures and the quick response of our team. The injured employee received immediate and efficient medical attention. The safety and well-being of our employees have always been our top priority, and this accident is a testament to the effectiveness of our safety protocols. We want to point out that this incident was also misreported as malfunctioning equipment that caused an explosion and a fire, by The Paper, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are happy to share that there was no explosion, no fire, and no equipment malfunction at our facility during this incident or at any other time in our over a decade of operations. Minerva would like to emphasize that the articles in question are based on both outdated and inaccurate information. Owner, Erik Briones stated, “In our 13 years of operation, we have consistently demonstrated our unwavering commitment to providing safe and healthy environments for our employees, customers, and plants. The violations that have occurred were minor in nature and have been swiftly addressed and resolved.” Minerva Canna remains committed to transparency and accountability. We welcome inquiries from anyone seeking more accurate information about our operations and safety practices. Our dedication to upholding the highest standards in the cannabis industry remains steadfast, and we will continue to prioritize the well-being of our employees and the integrity of our business.
